Telethon Tots Enjoy Surfing Fun

Three children wearing wetsuits play in the ocean, enjoying the water and sunshine together.

Sophie Ruehland (7), Xavier Hames (7) and Darcy Krmpotic (7).

We had so much fun taking the kids from Osborne Parkโ€™s Telethon Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre surfing with us last month!

Go Surf Perth owner and head coach Tom "Bomber" Johnston says it's important for kids with conditions such as diabetes to be active because it can drastically improve their overall health.

"Sports such as surfing helps kids physiologically as it strengthens their bones and muscles," he says.

"It also helps mentally and emotionally as it gives them energy, relieves stress and most importantly provides lots of fun!"
