At Go Surf Perth, we’re big believers in the power of the ocean to build confidence, community, and joy. That’s why we were proud to support the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre by donating a surf lesson voucher to their Christmas Appeal 2025 charity auction, These Are a Few of Our Favourite Things.
Go Surf Perth donated a surf lesson voucher to the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre Christmas Appeal 2025 charity auction.
A huge result for Christmas Appeal 2025
The Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre shared the wonderful news that, through the online auction and donations, they raised $10,185 for the programs and services that support people living with type 1 diabetes.
We’re grateful to have played a small part in that total — and we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who bid, donated, shared the auction, and helped make it such a success.
Why the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre matters
Type 1 diabetes is one of the world’s most complex self-managed auto-immune conditions. It’s not just about food and insulin — it can mean constant monitoring, planning ahead, and managing unpredictable changes day and night.
Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre Community Christmas Party 2025 — families coming together to celebrate and support the type 1 diabetes community.
The Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre (based in Stirling, WA) exists to make that load lighter by providing specialist support, education, and connection for people living with type 1 diabetes and their families. Their model brings together clinical care and community programs to help build a confident, connected type 1 community.
Our donation: a surf lesson voucher (and a little ocean stoke)
For the auction, we donated a Surf Lesson Voucher from Go Surf Perth, listed as an auction item in support of the Family Centre.
Surfing can be such a good reset — fresh air, learning something new, a few laughs, and that feeling of achievement when you stand up for the first time. We love being able to share that experience, and it’s even better when it helps fund services that genuinely change lives.
Thank you to the Family Centre community (and here’s to 2026)
We also want to acknowledge the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre team for everything they do — and for the incredible effort that goes into running a fundraising appeal like this (from community activations to newsletters, social posts, and more).
To everyone living with type 1 diabetes and supporting someone who is: we see your strength, and we’re cheering you on.
Wishing the Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre community a brilliant 2026 — and we hope to partner again soon.
