However, the chance of rain increases the closer we get to winter. Autumn also sees a lot of large low-pressure systems forming off the bottom of Australia. This means that we experience more swell than in summer with favourable offshore winds. WINTER
June to August are the coldest months in Perth, both on land and in the water. The rains are abundant, and it gets pretty chilly at night. Despite this, we still get to experience days that exceed temperatures of 20˚C. With warm winds from the north offering a bit of reprieve from the early morning chill. Compared to many places in Australia and throughout the world, winter here is mild. But the best thing about winter is that there is often no shortage of waves for you to test your mettle in. SPRING
Spring can be a little bit unpredictable in Perth. All in all, it’s awesome to know that winter has ended and we’re heading for warmer weather. Rain and colder morning and nights, however, are still to be expected. In regard to the waves, locally generated wind swells can create some really playful surfing conditions. The water temperatures also begin to warm up again to. Chances are though we’ll recommend you wear a wetsuit. Come November the weather feels more like summer than spring, with a few days hitting the 25˚C+ mark. This means you’ll more than likely get to enjoy some epic surf conditions.
